Mindbody's free studio website: quarterly edits, and 60 days after you leave

October 19, 2026

Mindbody will now build your studio a website at no extra charge. You cannot edit it yourself. Changes come on request, every quarter. If you leave, the domain goes into your name. The FAQ says nothing about the site itself after you go. Mindbody's Professional Services Supplemental Terms cover the rest. They say Mindbody owns the design, has no obligation to host the site once the service ends, and may delete it 60 days later.

Athletech reported the launch on August 26, 2026. Playlist runs the service for Mindbody and Booker customers. This post reads Mindbody's product page, its standard statement of work and its terms side by side.

What is on offer

Mindbody's product page says “Customized Websites are available at no additional cost for eligible Mindbody customers.” The launch post says the service “comes standard on every plan tier, at no additional monthly cost.” The US pricing page lists Customized Websites on Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate.

The standard statement of work lists what you get. That is a homepage, a services description page, a contact form, booking, ongoing maintenance, ongoing updates and one domain. “Any services, features, or deliverables not expressly described herein are out of scope.” Additional items need a change order and are “subject to Mindbody's then current rates.”

Playlist told Athletech that building your own site or hiring outside developers “can cost as much as $10,000.” Mindbody's launch post puts a custom build at “$2,000 to $10,000.” Those are the vendor's figures for the thing it is replacing.

Not every studio qualifies. The FAQ says “Mindbody is unable to offer Customized Websites to businesses that provide prenatal, children's, or medical services.” A yoga studio with a prenatal class on the schedule should ask before planning on it.

You ask for changes. You do not make them.

The FAQ says the sites “are built with AI technology, so customers cannot make edits on their own.” Edits can be requested “prior to launch and on an ongoing quarterly basis.” A footnote adds that “Urgent changes (that may impact your business) will be handled on a case-by-case basis.”

Your schedule and staff are covered. “Staff and schedule changes made in your Mindbody software will automatically reflect on your Customized Website.” The quarter applies to the rest of the site: a homepage banner for a new intro offer, a page for a teacher training, new photos after a renovation.

The FAQ says how often. The statement of work says how fast. A requested update has a delivery target of 5 business days, or “3 business days for time sensitive business related changes.” The product page also says “Mindbody is not able to offer full design freedom or a fully bespoke website at this time,” and “Features like animations and videos are not available.”

The domain is yours. The design is not.

Mindbody buys one domain for you at no cost, and the FAQ says “Should you leave Mindbody, your domain will be registered in your name and we'll facilitate transferring the payment to you.” It also says “Domain-related fees may apply.” Section 2.4 of the terms says Mindbody will “name you as the registrant” when it buys the domain. If you stop receiving the website service, “you will be responsible for any ongoing fees to maintain ownership and registration.” Pick the name carefully, because “Domain names, once purchased, cannot be revised or changed without incurring additional costs.”

The site is a different matter. Section 8.1 of the terms says Mindbody or its affiliates own the intellectual property in “Customized Website designs, code, work product, deliverables, and other materials.” The exception is what the terms call Materials. Mindbody's Terms of Service define Materials as Customer IP and Third-Party IP, and say you own the Customer IP. In our reading, that is your logo, your photos and your words. The design built around them stays with Mindbody.

Section 8.1 also says “Mindbody may reuse all Work Product, excluding Materials, in connection with Services for other customers.” While you use the site, section 8.2 gives you a license it calls nonexclusive, nontransferable and revocable. You agree not to “modify, copy or create any derivative works based on the deliverables.”

What section 2.8 says happens when you leave

Section 2.8 of the Professional Services Supplemental Terms is titled Post-Termination Treatment. When your subscription or the website statement of work ends, “Mindbody shall have no further obligation to maintain, update, or host your Customized Website.”

The 30 and 60 days are about deletion. They are not a promise that the site stays up, because the obligation to host ends when the service does. We would plan on having the next site ready before the day you cancel, pointed at the domain you now own.

Which plan gets the AI on the site

The website comes with every plan. The AI front desk on it does not. The US page says “Customers on Ultimate plans can also get our 24/7 front desk assistant and marketing tools wired in from day one.” Mindbody's Australian page says “Customers on Growth plans” instead, and its own footnote says “Attentive and AI Concierge available on Ultimate.”

Both most likely mean the top tier. Mindbody's Australian pricing page sells plans named Go, Core and Growth, and lists “24/7 AI front desk support to turn missed calls into bookings” under Growth. The US pricing page sells Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate, lists the same line under Ultimate, and shows AI Concierge as an add-on on Accelerate. A US studio should read it as Ultimate.

What to ask before you say yes

The other way: your site, our schedule inside it

Frontmat does not build your website. Your site stays on Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or GoDaddy, and one snippet from Settings puts the Frontmat schedule inside it. You edit the site whenever you like, because it is yours. If you leave us, you take the snippet out and the site stays where it is. Export is free and the plan is month to month. How the embed handles sign-in is in booking on your own website.
