Mindbody alternatives in 2026, including what Frontmat doesn’t have

Updated September 2026. Prices come from the vendors’ public pages and studio owners’ own reports; we correct anything a vendor fixes.

Five questions to ask before choosing

  1. What is the all-in monthly number for my member count, with the branded app, marketing tools, and every location included?
  2. Whose pocket does card processing land in? Stripe’s published rate, or a platform percentage on top?
  3. What does leaving look like? Ask for a sample member export with balances and class history before you sign.
  4. Is capacity the room or the equipment? A reformer studio needs per-spot booking, not a headcount.
  5. Who answers support, and how fast, once you are a customer rather than a lead?

The tools studio owners are evaluating

This list comes from studio-owner threads, not a vendor directory. The “ask” column is a question to verify with each vendor, not a claim about them.

Tool Where it fits What to ask before you sign
Mindbody Large or multi-service operators who want the marketplace and can staff the admin. Ask for the all-in monthly number for your member count with the branded app and processing included, and whether the marketplace commission applies to clients who found you elsewhere.
Momence Studios that want marketing automation inside the booking tool. Ask which plan tier carries a Momence platform fee on top of processing, and what the current processing rate is after the move to their processor.
Mariana Tek Established multi-location brands with a budget for a premium client app. Ask for pricing in writing before the demo, and for a sample member export with balances and history.
Glofox Studios that want a polished app and are comfortable with a sales-led contract. Ask what the branded app tier costs, whether billing is quarterly, and the contract length.
Arketa Instructor-led studios adding on-demand video. Ask which Studio tier removes the 3% transaction fee on top of Stripe, and to see a member book a reformer on your own floor plan.
Bookamat Studios under about 55 members that want to pay per active client, or that run on Square or Paystack. Free at ten clients or fewer. Ask about the Bookamat fee on top of your processor (0.55% plus 10 cents a transaction, halving past 100 active clients) and where the per-client price lands at your member count.
Vibefam Small independent studios wanting standard Stripe rates and responsive support. Ask about multi-location pricing and whether the branded app is included at the base price.
Zipper Studios that want website, appointments, and classes in one place. Ask which tier removes the 1% platform fee and what the starting price includes.
Punchpass Simple pass-based studios and community classes. Ask about spot booking and waitlist claim windows if reformers or capacity matter to you.
OfferingTree Solo teachers and small studios who want a website and booking together. Ask how the software handles staff roles and multiple rooms as you grow.
Nalah One instructor with a class or a first tiny studio. Ask what happens when you add a second room, a front desk, or a second location.

Where Frontmat fits

Where Frontmat does not fit

If any of those describe you, several tools above will serve you better, and we would rather say so here than after a migration.

See it

Ninety seconds of the real product on a demo studio: Home, the roster, a member booking her reformer, a member bringing a friend, the reports, and the price.

Nothing here is mocked up. Every frame is a screen a studio gets. Watch with the transcript.
