Terms of Service
Last updated 7 August 2026
These terms govern use of Frontmat, studio-management software operated by Star Hero AI LLC (“Frontmat”, “we”, “us”). They form an agreement between us and the business that creates a studio account (“Studio”, “you”).
People who book classes through a Studio (“Members”) are customers of that Studio, not of Frontmat. Section 10 covers the parts that apply to Members directly.
1. The service
Frontmat provides scheduling, spot booking, membership and credit tracking, waitlists, member messaging, and a member-facing web app hosted at your own address on frontmat.studio. We may add, change, or remove features; if we remove something you rely on materially, we will tell you before it happens where we reasonably can.
2. Your account
- You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in email current.
- Sign-in uses emailed links rather than passwords. Anyone with access to your email can access your account — treat that inbox as the key.
- You are responsible for what your staff do in your account, including any access you grant them.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter contracts on behalf of the business.
3. Fees and trials
- Frontmat costs a flat monthly price, stated on our pricing page, per studio.
- New studios get a free trial of the length stated at sign-up. When a trial ends without a subscription, new bookings and purchases pause — nothing is deleted, and your data stays available for export.
- Subscriptions are month to month. You may cancel at any time from your settings, effective at the end of the current period. We do not pro-rate partial months.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice to the email on your account. Price changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.
4. Payments between you and your Members
Money moves between your Member and you — not through us. You connect your own Stripe account; Members pay into it directly. Frontmat takes no commission or markup on anything your Members buy, and we never hold your funds.
- Card details are entered on payment pages hosted by Stripe. Frontmat never receives, processes, or stores card numbers.
- Stripe’s own terms and processing rates apply to you as their customer. Disputes, chargebacks, and payouts are between you, your Member, and Stripe.
- You are responsible for your own refund, cancellation, late-cancel, and no-show policies, and for the taxes on what you sell.
5. Your content and your data
Your schedule, member records, waiver text, branding, and transaction history remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to host and operate the service for you.
- You can export your members, class history, and credit ledger at any time — before, during, or after cancelling.
- You are responsible for the lawfulness of the member data you upload, including having the right to contact those people.
- Waiver text is yours. We provide the mechanism for collecting a signature; we do not supply legal language and do not review what you write.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Frontmat to:
- send unsolicited marketing, or message people who have not agreed to hear from you;
- upload unlawful content, or content you have no right to use;
- attempt to access another studio’s data, probe our systems, or interfere with the service’s operation;
- resell or white-label Frontmat without our written agreement.
7. Availability
We aim for the service to be available continuously, but we do not promise a specific uptime percentage, and we rely on third parties (see our Privacy Policy) whose failures can affect us. We perform maintenance and deploy changes routinely, generally without downtime.
8. Suspension and termination
- You may cancel at any time from your settings.
- We may suspend an account for non-payment, or for use that breaches section 6 or creates risk for other studios or their members. Except in urgent cases we will contact you first.
- After termination we keep your data for a limited period so you can export it, then delete it. See the Privacy Policy for the current period.
9. Warranties, liability, indemnity
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or revenue. Our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You will indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, your policies, or your relationship with your Members — including claims about waivers, refunds, injuries, or communications you send.
10. Members using the member app
If you book classes through a studio that uses Frontmat:
- Your agreement about classes, payments, credits, refunds, and waivers is with the studio. Frontmat provides the software the studio uses.
- Sign-in uses emailed links. Keep your email account secure; anyone with it can see your bookings.
- Booking-related email is part of the service. Marketing-style messages include an unsubscribe link. If you give a mobile number and opt in, text messages are booking-related only; reply STOP to stop them and HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
- To correct or delete your information, contact your studio — they control your record. We act on their instructions.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice by email to the address on your account, or in the app, before they take effect. Continuing to use Frontmat after that means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Ohio have exclusive jurisdiction.
