One teacher, more than one location: Arketa's $49 plan and when $99 flat costs less
Arketa prints one price on its pricing page. The Individual plan is "$49/mo," with "Billed annually (save 17%)" and "3% transaction fee + Stripe fees" printed under it. In the comparison table on the same page, Individual gets 1 location and 1 team member. We read the page on October 27, 2026.
This post is for one teacher who teaches in more than one place, and for a teacher at one place who wants to know if $49 is the cheaper buy. The first question ends on a demo call. The second has a number: about $1,667 a month in card sales.
What the $49 covers
The Individual card lists "1 team member login," "Class, privates + event scheduling," "Unlimited on-demand library" and "Class packages + memberships," among other lines. Further down, the comparison table puts a 1 in the Individual column for "Locations" and a 1 for "Team members + instructors." The Studio column says "Unlimited" in both rows.
That second 1 is you. A sub who covers your class would be a second instructor.
The $49 is the annual price. The FAQ says "All plans renew month to month unless you sign up for an annual plan," and the page prints no month-to-month price for Individual. At $49 a month billed annually, the year comes to $588 on one bill.
The 3% sits on top of Stripe's fee. The FAQ says "Our Individual partners are charged 3% along with Stripe's fees," and the table lists Stripe at "2.9% + $0.30 USD." On a $20 class paid by card, that is $0.60 to Arketa and $0.88 to Stripe: $1.48 of the $20.
A second location is a plan with no price on it
More than one location puts you in the Studio column. "Multiple rooms + locations" is a line on the Studio Core card, next to "Unlimited team members." Studio Core, Studio Growth and Studio Suite each show "Custom" and "Request a demo for pricing." The transaction fee row for Studio says "Let's talk," and the FAQ says "Studio partners can discuss their options with their Account Executive."
So at two locations the comparison is not $49 against $99. It is a number Arketa gives you on a call against $99, and the page does not print that number. Our earlier Arketa post covers the fee wording on Arketa's other pages. These are the questions for the call:
- What Studio Core costs a month for two locations, and whether that price is per location.
- Whether the 3% stays, drops or changes on a Studio plan.
- Whether Studio pricing is billed annually, month to month or either.
- Whether a second place you teach has to be a location at all, or can be a class with its own address. The page counts locations. It does not say what counts as one.
Frontmat's side is one line in its own description: "$99 per month flat, every feature and every location included, month to month, no contract." It "runs any number of locations under one account," so a second location does not change the price.
Frontmat is $99 a month flat. Every feature, every location, month to month. Card processing is Stripe’s published rate and goes to Stripe.

Frontmat "adds no markup, platform fee, or commission," and its card processing is "Stripe's published rate (2.9% + 30c online in the US) paid to Stripe." That is the rate Arketa's table lists. Stripe's pricing page prints it as "2.9% + 30¢." So the Stripe part of each sale is the same on both. What differs is $50 a month in price and 3% of card sales.
Arketa's 3% on $1,667 is $50. Below about $1,667 a month in card sales, the Individual plan costs less. Above it, $99 flat costs less. At $20 a class, $1,667 is about 83 paid classes a month. Stripe's fee is left out of the rows below because it is the same on both.
- $1,000 a month in card sales: Arketa is $49 plus $30, or $79. Frontmat is $99. Arketa costs $20 less.
- $1,667: Arketa is $49 plus $50, or $99. Frontmat is $99. They are even.
- $3,000: Arketa is $49 plus $90, or $139. Frontmat is $99. Frontmat costs $40 less.
- $5,000: Arketa is $49 plus $150, or $199. Frontmat is $99. Frontmat costs $100 less a month, or $1,200 a year.
Two things move these rows. The $49 is the annual-billing price, and "save 17%" says the month-to-month price is higher. If you pay month to month, every break-even figure here moves lower. And the rows assume one location, because one is what the Individual plan covers.
Where the $49 plan is the better fit
Under about $1,667 a month in card sales at one location, Arketa's Individual plan costs less, and for a teacher starting out that may settle it. The plan also lists "Class, privates + event scheduling" and an "Unlimited on-demand library." Frontmat names "appointment-first scheduling" among the things it does not do, and its feature list has no on-demand video library. If most of your income is privates or recorded classes, those lines matter more than the fee.
Past $1,667 a month, the 3% costs more than the $50 the lower price saves. At a second location, the $49 is no longer on offer and the price is a call away. Frontmat's $99 stays $99 at any card total and any number of locations, with staff roles in the same price.
Frontmat is $99 a month flat. Every feature, every location, month to month. Card processing is Stripe’s published rate and goes to Stripe.
