Send your leads to MailerLite
Frontmat's own follow-up sends three emails and needs nothing else. If you would rather keep your leads in a mailing list and write your own sequence, this sends every new lead to a MailerLite group, where an automation takes over. It takes about twenty minutes and costs nothing for a small studio.
What you need
- A MailerLite account. The free plan covers a small list (250 subscribers, 2,500 emails a month and three automations when we checked in October 2026).
- A Make account, to carry each lead from Frontmat to MailerLite. The free plan's 1,000 credits a month are plenty: each lead uses about two.
1. In MailerLite: a group and an automation
- Under Subscribers › Groups, create a group, say Frontmat leads.
- Under Automations, create one that starts when a subscriber joins a group, choose Frontmat leads, and add your emails and waits.
- Under Integrations › API, create an API token and keep it for step 2.
2. In Make: a scenario
- Create a scenario. For its first module choose Webhooks › Custom webhook, click Add, name it Frontmat, and copy the address Make gives you.
-
In Frontmat, open Settings › Connect, paste the address into Endpoint URL,
click Save, and under Events make sure
lead.createdis ticked. - Back in Make, while the webhook is waiting for data, click Send a test in Frontmat. Make learns the fields from it.
-
Add a module: MailerLite › Create/Update a Subscriber. Connect it with the API
token from step 1. Map Email to
data.emailand Name todata.name, and add the group Frontmat leads. -
Click the link between the two modules and set a filter:
typeequal tolead.created. The test ping then stops there. - Save the scenario and turn it on, with scheduling set to run immediately as data arrives.
3. Turn Frontmat's own follow-up off
So nobody gets two sequences, open Settings › Messages and turn off the Lead follow-up switch. Leads still arrive on the Leads page, and their pages still show everything else.
Leads you already have
The scenario carries new leads from now on. For the ones already on your list, Reports › Exports › Leads downloads them as a CSV, which you can import into MailerLite from its Subscribers page. Leave out anyone marked unsubscribed, and anyone who has become a member if you keep them on another list.
If it stops arriving
Settings › Connect lists the last twenty deliveries. failed means Make did not answer three times; check the scenario is on, then click send again. Someone who unsubscribes in MailerLite is unsubscribed there; Frontmat's own emails to members are not affected.
