Who owns what

Mariana Tek, Momence and ClubReady all answer to the same owner now

October 27, 2026

Mariana Tek, Momence and ClubReady used to have three different owners. Since March 2026 they have one. On March 30, Athletech News reported that "Xplor Technologies has officially closed its merger with Clubessential Holdings." The same day Xplor published a post that lists eleven fitness software brands in one portfolio. On October 27, 2026, we read that post, the merger release, Mariana Tek's and Momence's websites and the privacy notice both of them now link to. We make studio software too, so this is a competitor reading public pages.

The short version

How three owners became one

Momence was founded in 2020. When Clubessential Holdings acquired it in January 2025, Athletech News said Momence "supports more than 4,500 businesses." The same report listed Clubessential's fitness brands as "including ClubReady, Exerp and myFitApp." From then on Momence and ClubReady had the same parent.

Mariana Tek came from the other side. Its software "became part of Xplor through its owner, Advent International, which purchased it in 2019," Leisure Opportunities reported in 2024. On September 16, 2025, Advent announced that Xplor and Clubessential would merge, "creating a scaled global platform for software and payments." The release says the combined company will process "$47 billion in annual payments volume." Advent stays the majority owner. Battery Ventures and Silver Lake stay on as minority investors. The release expected the deal to close "by year end." It closed in March 2026. Randy Eckels ran Clubessential and now runs the combined company.

For a Momence studio that is two changes of owner in about fourteen months. We covered what happened to Momence's fees through both in Momence after two acquisitions.

What Xplor says about the eleven brands

Xplor's post names them: Mariana Tek, Momence, Exerp, Resamania, ClubReady, Membr, Deciplus, Legend, Clubware, TrueCoach and myFitApp. It says "Xplor Fitness & Leisure supports more than 61,000 customer locations in 70 countries." It announces "a material, eight-figure investment to expand native AI capabilities across its platforms." Athletech's report names an AI agent for Momence users as an early result of that spending. We wrote about what that agent costs.

Here is what the post offers studios: "For fitness businesses, this means continuity in the solutions they trust today." It does not say which brands Xplor will keep building, which it will fold together, or how long the continuity lasts. Xplor's own fitness page pitches three of them at the same buyer. Mariana Tek is "a premium platform built for boutique fitness studios." Momence was founded "to support boutique studios, wellness providers" and creator-led businesses. ClubReady is "a platform built for fitness studios and gym operators."

Switching between them is not leaving

Mariana Tek's Switch to Mariana Tek page has a required field: "What software do you currently use?" The first option is Momence. The second is ClubReady. Its homepage runs an offer: "Make the move to Mariana Tek and get your first three months free." The page gives no terms for who qualifies.

Mariana Tek's site map lists comparison pages against Walla, Mindbody and Arketa. It has none against Momence or ClubReady. The footers show who owns the brands. Mariana Tek's reads "© Xplor Mariana Tek 2026. Xplor Group." Momence's reads "© 2026 Xplor Momence. All rights reserved."

A studio that moves from Momence to Mariana Tek gets a new product and may get three free months. It still pays the same company.

Whose privacy notice covers your members

The "Privacy Policy" link in Momence's footer goes to Xplor's US privacy notice. Mariana Tek's footer links to an Xplor privacy notice too. The Xplor Privacy Notice reads "Last Updated: March 2026." It says it "applies to Xplor Technologies and our controlled affiliates and subsidiaries." Its list of websites includes marianatek.com and www.momence.com. ClubReady's site is not on the list.

Its section on affiliates says "We enable access to Personal Data across our subsidiaries, affiliates, and related companies" and gives as one example the case where "we utilize common data systems."

Momence's own site still has an older policy. The Momence privacy policy is from "Momence, Inc." and reads "Last Revised: April 1, 2025." It names neither Clubessential nor Xplor. We do not read the two as contradicting each other. Both say the studio using the software decides how its clients' data is used. Xplor's notice says that in most of those cases "Xplor is acting as a processor or service provider, and this Privacy Notice does not apply." So the terms that govern your members' data most likely sit in your contract and its data processing terms, not on either public page. Ask for them in writing.
