Set your opening day, and decide when booking opens
If you have not opened yet, tell Frontmat the day of your first class. Until then you pay nothing, the app says when you open, every class starts on that day, and the day itself arrives on its own: nothing to switch on.
Setting or moving it
- The welcome wizard asks on its second step. Later, it is Opening day under Settings › Studio. If you already have a class on the schedule, a button offers Use my first class.
- Click Save studio. Moving the day moves everything that depends on it: classes that started on the old day now start on the new one, packs bought before opening count from the new day, and memberships set to bill on opening day bill on it.
Your free time runs until the opening day (up to 90 days from sign-up) plus 14 days with real classes. The banner at the top of the admin reads it back.
What the opening day changes
- Classes on new templates start on it, so the whole opening quarter is on the schedule the moment you save one.
- Home is a Ready to open checklist until that morning, then the ordinary day page.
- A pack bought before you open counts its days from the opening day, so nobody loses the weeks until you open.
- A membership can bill on the opening day instead of at purchase (a founding tier); see products.
- Reports has a Before you open band, with month tabs through your opening month.
When booking opens
Members can always see the schedule. Booking opens, under Settings › Studio while your opening day is ahead, decides when they can book:
- With the schedule: each class opens when its own window does. With the usual 90-day window, that is right away, and the app says Opening Jan 5 · booking is open.
- On a date: nobody can book before the day you pick. Until then the app and your website say Booking opens with the date and collect emails.
- When I say: nobody can book until you press Open booking now on Home. If you never do, booking opens on the opening day. Until then the app says Booking opens soon and collects emails.
Everyone who left an email under Get first pick of the schedule gets one email the day booking opens, with the first classes and their sign-in link. No list, no drip.
Good to know
- A held or dated booking only ever holds booking back. It never opens a class earlier than its own Members can book window.
- Nobody can book until your waiver is saved, whatever the booking setting says. Home says so.
- Members who already have credits, imported members and you with your starter credits, can book before payments are taking money. Everyone else can once they can buy.
- A class dated before the opening day is an open house. Home counts those until you move them or keep them.
