Switching from Mindbody, according to Reddit: the actual threads, linked, and what each owner switched to

October 12, 2026 · Updated October 25, 2026

Vibefam sells studio software and publishes a page that summarizes what Reddit says about leaving Mindbody. The threads say more than any summary does, including who was talking. This post links every thread it quotes. Every quote below is the commenter's own wording, read on October 12, 2026, with the month it was posted. Where a comment was later removed, or came from someone selling software, it says so.

Who is in these threads

Start here, because it changes how to read everything after it. In the r/mindbody thread Former Mindbody Users: Where Did You Go? Was It Worth It? from June 2026, one reply opens "i work for momence!" In Mindbody is horrible from November 2025 the same account wrote "i work for momence and we’ve been helping people get out of their contracts". In Thinking of moving off of Mindbody from October 2025 one reply opens "Hello! My name is Betsy from OfferingTree." In Has anyone migrated away from Mindbody? on r/pilates from February 2026 one opens "Hey team, I am the Product Marketing Manager at Walla." An account named MorganAtMindbody asks posters to send contact details by direct message in four of the threads linked here. All four comments were later removed.

The undisclosed kind is more common. In the October 2025 r/mindbody thread, two accounts posted the sentence "throw WellnessLiving into your trials" 50 minutes apart, and one of the two is marked removed by Reddit. In the r/yoga thread what scheduling software do you actually use? Fed up with MindBody's pricing from September 2025, a moderator replied to one commenter: "A quick scan of your profile shows that it's pretty much all spam for Vibefam." Commenters name Vibefam as their own platform or recommend it in ten of the twenty threads linked here. One of us commented in one of them too, on r/pilatesinstructors in September 2026, with "Disclosure: I'm one of the founders of Frontmat" as the first line. Every thread below is linked so you can check all of this yourself.

Walla

Walla and Momence are the two destinations named most often in the 2025 threads. The owner who started Mindbody is horrible wrote in another thread the same day: "I've been with them for a little over a year and am locked into a 2 year contract." and "I just migrated over to Walla." In the r/YogaTeachers thread Has your studio switched from MindBody to Kenko, formerly Bookee? from November 2025, a teacher wrote "The studio I teach at went from MindBody to Walla a few years ago too." and a student wrote "my studio switched to Walla from MindBody a few months ago." In the September 2025 r/yoga thread: "we switched from Mindbody to a startup called Walla during the pandemic after Mindbody started offering their own classes".

The counter-report is older and specific. In the r/YogaTeachers thread Scheduling software preferences? an owner wrote in October 2024: "I cannot stress enough: Do NOT choose Walla." The reason was the move itself: "The credit card transfer alone took two months, and that delay cost us thousands of dollars." Walla publishes its prices, and we read them in September.

Momence

Momence comes up in most of these threads. One reply in the r/pilates thread Anyone switched away from Mindbody? from October 2025 is from a teacher: "I'm not a studio owner but all the studios I teach in have moved to Momence and Walla." An owner in the same thread: "I find Momence very easy to use as an owner and it’s super user friendly for the customer." and "Cheap at £300 ish per month too". Another owner: "Stay away from Momence, they promise the world over the sales call". That owner went to Glofox. The thread's own question is the weak part. The post was filtered by the subreddit's automoderator and later deleted, and three days before writing it the same account had said in another thread that it switched to Time2book more than a year earlier. Read the replies, not the question.

The r/YogaTeachers thread Switching from MindBody to Momence? from October 2025 has the price comparison in its first lines: "I am locked in with MindBody at $125/month." and "Momence wants $200." One reply is from an owner who left Mindbody years ago: "I use momence after leaving MBO years ago." and "I would never go back to MBO costs alone." A reply from May 2026 is from an owner two years in: "but they were bought by a venture capital firm in 2025 and things have really started going downhill." and "More recently they shut off most of our features even though we had paid $400 for their platform." Momence was acquired in January 2025 and folded into Xplor Technologies in March 2026; we covered that in September. A teacher on r/pilatesinstructors put a number on its fees in January 2026: "Momence was OK but their fees were 3.9% which ate into our margins as we grew."

In February 2024, in the same r/YogaTeachers thread as the Walla warning, one commenter put two prices side by side: "Momence was $200/month for a custom plan (that has everything I want) with no onboarding fees." and "The ONLY one that was cheaper was Mindbody at $159,". The same commenter had offered a Momence referral in December 2023. In the February 2026 r/pilates thread a client wrote: "where I go switched from mindbody to momence and I hate it but it's where I want to go so I just make do." The owner who asked that thread ruled Momence out: "Yeah, not going for Momence." The reason was "when you need to have add-ons for extra price".

WellnessLiving

WellnessLiving gets the clearest "it saved money" reports and the clearest "it broke" report. October 2025, r/pilates: "In Canada - Wellness Living !" from an owner who left Mindbody a few years ago. April 2026, in the October 2025 r/mindbody thread: "we moved to WellnessLiving so I can actually see and understand what we're being charged each month". February 2026, r/pilates, from a client: "My studio moved to Wellness Living a few years ago." It "Saves a ton of money", they wrote, and as a user they are not a fan.

The r/YogaTeachers thread WellnessLiving outages from May 2024 was started by an owner who had come from Glofox. The reply that matters was posted in January 2025 by an owner who came from Mindbody: "I used Mindbody for 1 year and then switched to WellnessLiving because they were cheeper". Then: "Wellness has continuous outages, the app doesn't work 1/2 the time". Then: "This month I had to refund $3000 due to over charges." And: "They are also raising their prices and their merchant fees". A different owner replied in August 2025: "we've had issues with entire geographical areas not being able to login". On r/smallbusiness in January 2024 a customer wrote that they were "locked in" at a "lifetime rate of $129" and that "this is the 3rd time they've increased the price". We read WellnessLiving's price list in September.

One more WellnessLiving thread is worth knowing about because of who wrote it. Anyone else feeling done with Mindbody? on r/mindbody from August 2025 reads like an owner's question until this sentence: "We onboard 150-200 Mindbody businesses a month." The "we" is not a studio. Read it as a vendor's post, and read the number as a vendor's number.

Mariana Tek

Mariana Tek is where the larger studios went, and its exit stories are the expensive ones. October 2025, r/pilates: "All the studios I've been to that previously used Mindbody are now on Mariana Tek." October 2025, r/mindbody: "If you've got the volume to support it, Mariana Tek is awesome." November 2025, in the r/FitnessStudioOwner thread Thinking of switching from Mindbody.. but how to handle recurring memberships + client payment info?: "We moved from Mindbody to MarianaTek and they did all this for us seamlessly." and "They move all the info, all the billing, etc over."

The r/pilates thread Fitness Studio Software from October 2024 has two owners crossing in opposite directions. One wrote in November 2024: "I have used Glofox for the past two years" and "We are switching to Mariana Tek in January." The other wrote on December 31, 2024: "im with mariana tek and it is awful $850 per month and half of the features they promised in the sales call". Then: "mariana tek also locks you into a 3 year contract!" Then: "they just argue and say i need to pay $30k to get out of the contract..." At $850 a month, three years is $30,600, so the exit quote is close to the whole term. Their planned next platform: "glofox was my hopeful next platform as they're ,month to month and about half of MT." A reviewer on Software Advice described the same three-year initial term, and we covered Mariana Tek's pricing in October. On r/pilatesinstructors in April 2026: "Definitely would not use Mariana Tek" because "they will hold your customer data hostage".

Glofox

Glofox collects the happiest owner quotes and two of the angriest. October 2025, r/pilates: "We went with GLOFOX and have been super happy with them". May 2026, in the r/mindbody thread Anyone actually moved off Mindbody and not regretted it?: "Looked at WL, Momence, and Glofox." and "Ended up on Glofox because the member app was pretty clean". June 2026, r/mindbody: "When I looked into glofox it was more the pricing transparency that gave me pause" and "BUT the glofox branded member app side is the best in the market". The angry ones are the two-year Glofox owner above who left for Mariana Tek, and an owner on r/pilates in February 2026: "their support team bailed on us the week before we opened the new studio". We read Glofox's pricing page in September.

Arketa

Arketa appears once as a destination and once as a departure. September 2025, r/yoga: "My studio just switched from mind body to arketa, which gave them a custom booking app." June 2026, in the r/mindbody thread Former Mindbody Users: "We've been on Arketa since last August, and the failures have hit every critical system a studio depends on." The migration lost records "including stored payment information for nearly 300 clients". The exit: "Arketa has refused to give me written confirmation that our subscription is even cancelled". That owner went to Walla: "We are leaving after a year for Walla, which has been excellent so far (a week in though)." In the February 2026 r/pilates thread the owner's verdict after a demo was a "terrible user experience". We read Arketa's fee pages in September.

Kenko, formerly Bookee

Kenko used to be called Bookee. The November 2025 r/YogaTeachers thread was asked by an owner mid-demo, and one reply was from a switcher: "We switched to Kenko, the support is amazing!" In the October 2024 r/pilates thread, two replies a month apart said the opposite: "Stay far away from Bookee." in December 2024 and "Stay far away from Bookee (now called Kenko)." in January 2025.

The $19 to $64 a month tools

The cheapest switches are the ones with a price attached. The September 2025 r/yoga thread was asked on behalf of a teacher in India with about 150 students paying "MindBody's $129/month fees plus transaction costs". One reply: "I pay $64 monthly for the mid tier plan." on Punchpass, from a commenter who also offered a referral code. On r/pilatesinstructors in November 2025: "We moved off it to Time2book after doing demos with Momence and Mariana Tek." and "I run a small boutique Pilates studio with around 80 recurring clients and we pay about $56/mo now." On r/YogaTeachers in October 2025: "We switched from Mindbody to Time2book more than a year ago, and it works great for us!" and "We pay $49/month, for ~100 active client Pilates studio." On r/mindbody in October 2025: "Last year we switched to Time2book and it’s been a huge relief." and "Pricing starts at $19/month". In the Kenko thread: "We switched from Mindbody to Union." and "It’s so much more affordable." In the r/YogaTeachers thread Affordable software for a yoga studio from January 2024: "We use fitDEGREE, changed from Mind Body previously." And in February 2024: "Momence started at $300+ for what they offered, and even that lacked certain features." followed by "We went with TeamUp, which starts at $99."

The three parts of the move owners keep describing

The export and its fee. Mindbody's own explainer says "Mindbody allows you to export your business data in standard formats, such as CSV files." and "If you have a large volume of data and need additional support, Mindbody offers a data export service for an added fee." It does not say the amount. Owners do. The owner of Mindbody is horrible: "rather than pay the $499 data fee to have mindbody provide it." and "they say it can take up to 3 months to receive it." In the r/FitnessStudioOwner thread: "Mindbody might charge you $500 to get your data". In the r/mindbody thread 3 years on Mindbody and I think I've finally lost it from April 2026: "we couldn’t transfer card details unless we paid like USD500."

The saved cards. Mindbody keeps them. From the r/FitnessStudioOwner thread: "Recurring memberships don't auto-transfer anywhere because Mindbody keeps all the billing info in their own vault." and "the stored cards basically just sit there until the account fully closes". The owner who moved to Time2book: "On the new system, clients just re-entered their card once and everything continued smoothly." The owner who warned about Walla paid for a transfer and waited two months for it. The owner who moved to Mariana Tek had the vendor move the billing. It cuts both ways. Migration migraine on r/mindbody from March 2026 is a gym with "about 300 individual clients" moving from WellnessLiving to Mindbody: "The saved payments were not migrated from the previous platform" and "a client re-entering their card in the mindbody app does not save to their account".

The contract. Mindbody's terms are 12, 24 or 36 months and they renew unless you give notice; we read them on October 5. The threads are what that looks like from inside. "they wont let me out of the contract until 4/28/26 when my contract ends." from November 2025. "They have been "processing" my cancellation since September" from the same owner on the same day. "I’m locked into the 12 month term" from a trainer on r/personaltraining in June 2025, in a thread titled Mindbody refuses to cancel. And the owner who asked the May 2026 thread above: "Renewed Mindbody last spring after agonising about it for two months and now I'm regretting it again." That studio is "two locations, around 220 active members between them." The November owner's advice is the practical one: "For anyone who knows they want out of their contract - schedule it as far in advance as you can!"

What we do with a Mindbody export

Frontmat imports the Mindbody member export as it comes. The first run writes nothing. It produces a report of who would land, with what credits and history, and which rows need a decision, and you read it before anything goes live. That dry run is the whole point. Saved cards do not move. Members reconnect a card on their first purchase, which is what the Time2book owner above described. Your data exports from your own settings page at any time, including after you cancel, and the plan is month to month. The details are on the home page.

Updated October 25, 2026: we removed a Momence processing rate whose source no longer states it. unverified: threads 15 to 20 in the list (Opening a studio, Has anyone migrated away from Mindbody?, Migration migraine, 3 years on Mindbody, Anyone actually moved off Mindbody, Former Mindbody Users) were not re-read because Reddit rate-limited the fetch; a reviewer on Software Advice (via our Mariana Tek post) could not be re-read (403). Threads 1 to 14 still exist; in thread 2 the opening post shows [removed] but its comments, including the quoted fitDEGREE one, remain; four quotes (two in the October 2025 r/mindbody thread, two in the r/FitnessStudioOwner thread) did not appear in Reddit's feed, which may be truncated.
